Clean And Simple Christmas

Hi there I thought I would share my clean and simple Christmas card,

It's using an Inkylicious stencil and stamp.

I used brilliance white and blue ink pads and the cottage was stamped using Stazon

A sprinkling of glitter, ribbon bow and a few gems. Jobs a good un.

There's only one Father Christmas

Hi there, hope you've all had a great Bonfire night, I must say I'm pleased it's over.

Not much fun when your pets are nervous of load noises.

I decided to take my dog a walk at lunch time so he would be more relaxed, I just got level with the Church and they let off a screaming rocket not 10 foot from the foot path, making both Mickey my dog and me jump about six foot into the air. GRRRRRR

Anyway I thought I would calm myself down with a bit off stamping, I challenged myself to make a card using just one stamp, and I'm pretty pleased with the out come . 

I used a Gummiapan stamp from Swedish House Crafts called Santa's head they also

have a matching die. I coloured him with copics added a touch of glitter to his hat

and printed a sentiment off my printer.

Hi there, I've been playing with some wooden bauble blanks I got,

I also have a few new stamps from Inkylicious 

 For these top two I dry brushed with gesso, stamped using blue stazon 

and then glittered , was really pleased with the effect.

Stamps used Seasons greetings and Winter Cabin

this one I left wood colour, stamped with black stazon and coloured with 

Pentel Hybrid Dual metallic pens and the 

Xmas Whimsey Bauble stamp 

this one i painted with gesso when dry i stamped with stazon and coloured

with sparkle pens.

It made a nice change from Christmas cards,

Well after hobbling around with my foot ache since April, they seem to think I have a spur

on my heel, only an X Ray will confirm it, and our hospital said they don't do that.

Lady Butterfly from Aurora Wings

Hi there, I've had great fun this week playing with the new releases from Aurora wings 

my two projects were using Lady-Butterfly 

This first one I coloured with copics and worked it unto a canvas,

which has structure paste through a stencil, acrylic paint. crackle paste, sprays, Art stones and brusho's.

Hi there, I have a family of penguins for you today, I love this image from all dressed up stamps and

this one is called  Christmas penguins. I coloured them with copics, 3D laquered the beaks, buttons and feet, glittered the snow, papers are My Mines Eye Mistletoe Magic, that I distressed the edges of a piece of twine and Joy charm finish it off.

Hiya, just a quick card today, forgot a birthday, this is not uncommon for me at the moment, I have forgotten more birthdays this year than ever before, and I have no excuse because i sit staring at my calendar for most of the day, it's hung on the wall in front of my sewing machine at work.

Still it gave me chance to colour up one of my fave stamp sets, this is one of the Tim Holtz crazy dogs, the paper is HOTP and the letter dies are Xcut.

You Gnome Christmas is coming.

Hi there, here's another one, are you getting fed up of my Christmas cards yet? Hubby says it's far to early to be blogging my Christmas cards, but as I told him if I left it until December I would be on here two or three times a day to get them all on.

This is one of my favorite stamps from last year, it's a Creative Expressions set called "Make Gnome Mistake". 

I coloured the background with a Brilliance trio ink pad, the clouds were made with a die cut I cut out of scrap card, I then used this as a stencil.

Snowman, Robin and Puss

Hiya, I've had a really productive day today, all my loose stamps are now put away and packaged in a strong clear plastic envelope, feeling very smug with myself, where possible they are labeled with the manufacturer and stamp name, this one is a Stampavie called Snowman designed by Gillian Roberts, I believe I bought it from Hobby House a few years ago now.

I coloured it with copics used glitter and snow flakes, the papers are Snowflake collection from BoBunny the sentiment is from Crafters Companion. Gems and snowflake from my stash.

Naughty or Nice?

Hi there, well i thought I'd post one of my C Word cards, they will probably get a bit more Christmassy later in the year.

This image is from Bugaboo stamps and is called crabby-cat-christmas 

I coloured her with copics, for the background I blended Antique Linen, Shabby Shutters and Fired Brick distress inks, spritzed with water then used Shabby shutters to stamp the star stamp from Craft Stamper magazine around the edges, I 3D laquered the eyes and bauble, glittered the hat and added a touch of sparkle pen. I'm really enjoying making my own backing papers for a change, and to be fair by the time I've found the one I want it's just as quick, I made my own text blocks.

Peters Doggy Birthday

Hiya, I'd like to share a Birthday card with you today, I've used a Tim Holtz Crazy Dog stamp, 

 for the background I mixed Mermaid Lagoon and Twisted Citron distress inks onto card, made a stencil out of my Tim Holtz Die and put the mermaid lagoon through it, stamped some texture stamps randomly around, put some texture paste through my circles stencil, once dry i coloured the paste with a bit of Wild Honey ink. The dog was coloured with a Chameleon pen.

Hi there, been messy playing again, realized what i did wrong with this heart plaque, I used heavy gesso to prime with and it was just to thick, still you learn by your mistakes and I played about with it learning more stuff along the way.

I got my hubby to cut me a heart shape from ply wood and it's a really good base to work on so will defo be doing that again. Most of the things on the plaque are from my craft box.

Paint Saint

Hi there, I've had a fairly productive weekend, I bought one of theses brand new paint storage carry shelves from Tando-creative, they are called Paint Saints and you can get them HERE

 I covered mine in white gesso, then a layer of yellow oxide acrylic, the edges were then blended with Burnt sienna acrylic. Once dry I stamped all over with an Inkylicious crackle stamp and seedless preserves Distress Ink, when dry I then stenciled around the edges with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink and Dutch Doobadoo Burlap stencil. 

Now I get to put my paints in, it holds 32 1oz bottles of acrylic, I don't have that many so I shall fill the rest up with other things until I can fill it.

I really enjoyed playing I might do the rest of my storage to match, then again might try different colourways.

Wedding card, Tim Holtz style

Hi there, my nephew got married last week, so this is the card I made for them.

I coloured an A4 piece of watercolour card with Brusho's, I did a big piece so that I had some left over for the butterflies. The text stamp is by Kaiser craft, the butterflies and corner page dies are both Tim Holtz, I lifted the wings with 3D glue, I was going to put gems on the butterfly bodies but decided it didn't need anything else.

Shabby Christmas

Hi there, I'm feeling a bit Shabby Chic today,

so I've made a Christmas card in my mood.

The papers are from my favorite Christmas paper pack " Maja Designs Vintage Frost Basics"

I've distressed the edges of the paper and also the topper which comes with the pack, the stars are cut from some left over crackle card I made for another card, the candy canes are chipboard that i painted, I've used an Amy Design die with Kraft card, I also dry brushed this with white gesso, and there's a piece of cheesecloth under the topper. Some bright spark told me there is only 22 weeks before the C Word so I thought I would get cracking, I don't wont a repeat of last year where I actually had to buy some cards as I had sold mine and didn't have enough.

My Best Friend

Hello, I thought I'd share a card I made for my great niece, Wow that makes me feel ancient, 

I've used one of my All dressed up stamps this one is called My best friend

I have just got some Chameleon pens,and I've been trying to get used to them.

The round corner stitched die was a cheapy of ebay, not a named one, a DieSire 6, some paper straws from Home Bargins paper and ribbon from my stash.

Nautical Cigar Box

Hi there, I was given a few cigar boxes the other day, I never turn anything away I could up-cycle, 

so this is what I ended up with.

 Firstly i glued scrunched up tissue paper to the sides using PVA glue

  Glued on a few chipboard circles to the sides, a wheel charm to the front, I also changed the lock for a more suitable one,

The anchor is a wooden one and around the edges I cut out a corner die from Amy Design (Vintage Vehicles)

Then I covered everything with black gesso. 

Once dry I dry brushed with Finnabair patina effect paste.

I must say I really enjoyed playing with this box, and it feels good to have saved something from the rubbish and turned it into something beautiful, (well I think it is anyway).

Hello Flower

Hi there, a bit of fun tonight, a card for any occasion, who was it that had "Hello flower" as there catch phrase? I cant remember.

This card was made using three flower stamps from Bloobel stamps we have Arthur aster, Carey-carnation and Clarissa there are loads more to choose from all equally gorgeous.

I coloured them with my copics the sky is stormy clouds distress ink, the wall I made using Texture paste and a Dutch doobadoo stencil (A5 Bricks) which I coloured with a variety of distress inks, the text I made myself with some really old alphabet stamps, the eyes and teeth are enhanced with 3D laquer.

I used to really love strong black coffee but a few years back I suddenly couldn't stomach it anymore, I still love the smell just not the taste, I've switched to strong black tea now.

Blue Christmas

Hi there, I've been working on a couple of cards over the weekend , thought I would share them with you, I've really taken to a bit of mixed media again at the moment, 

I painted my card with deep blue acrylic, once dry i used some crackle paste and dusted it with some distress ink. I then distressed the edges with my scissors. The topper is a stamp from years ago I bought it from The Stamp Man. Embossed with versamark and silver detail powder I then coloured it with Brusho's, once dry i filled the poinsettia flower with 3D Laquer, the stars are Tando's Creative that I gessoed and covered with glitter, ribbon from my stash and the Peace die is a Tim Holtz.

I'm really enjoying myself at the moment, my next card is still drying so i may pop it on tomorrow,
