My Best Friend

Hello, I thought I'd share a card I made for my great niece, Wow that makes me feel ancient, 

I've used one of my All dressed up stamps this one is called My best friend

I have just got some Chameleon pens,and I've been trying to get used to them.

The round corner stitched die was a cheapy of ebay, not a named one, a DieSire 6, some paper straws from Home Bargins paper and ribbon from my stash.

Nautical Cigar Box

Hi there, I was given a few cigar boxes the other day, I never turn anything away I could up-cycle, 

so this is what I ended up with.

 Firstly i glued scrunched up tissue paper to the sides using PVA glue

  Glued on a few chipboard circles to the sides, a wheel charm to the front, I also changed the lock for a more suitable one,

The anchor is a wooden one and around the edges I cut out a corner die from Amy Design (Vintage Vehicles)

Then I covered everything with black gesso. 

Once dry I dry brushed with Finnabair patina effect paste.

I must say I really enjoyed playing with this box, and it feels good to have saved something from the rubbish and turned it into something beautiful, (well I think it is anyway).

Hello Flower

Hi there, a bit of fun tonight, a card for any occasion, who was it that had "Hello flower" as there catch phrase? I cant remember.

This card was made using three flower stamps from Bloobel stamps we have Arthur aster, Carey-carnation and Clarissa there are loads more to choose from all equally gorgeous.

I coloured them with my copics the sky is stormy clouds distress ink, the wall I made using Texture paste and a Dutch doobadoo stencil (A5 Bricks) which I coloured with a variety of distress inks, the text I made myself with some really old alphabet stamps, the eyes and teeth are enhanced with 3D laquer.

Flower Moon and Coffee Sprite

Hiya it's new release time at Aurora wings and we have two for you, this little beauty is called

I've used Black Forest Delish paper, tags from Stamperia Lilac flowers, Resin frame, snip art and flowers from Craft Box, butterfly and cheesecloth from my stash, there's a few dots of paper pearls on there as well.

I coloured her with copics, used some pink gingham out my bit box and Maja Design Coffee in the Arbour papers, some old lace and flowers, I made the text boxes with some alphabet stamps, a few pearls in the corners. I used to really love strong black coffee but a few years back I suddenly couldn't stomach it anymore, I still love the smell just not the taste, I've switched to strong black tea now.

Blue Christmas

Hi there, I've been working on a couple of cards over the weekend , thought I would share them with you, I've really taken to a bit of mixed media again at the moment, 

I painted my card with deep blue acrylic, once dry i used some crackle paste and dusted it with some distress ink. I then distressed the edges with my scissors. The topper is a stamp from years ago I bought it from The Stamp Man. Embossed with versamark and silver detail powder I then coloured it with Brusho's, once dry i filled the poinsettia flower with 3D Laquer, the stars are Tando's Creative that I gessoed and covered with glitter, ribbon from my stash and the Peace die is a Tim Holtz.

I'm really enjoying myself at the moment, my next card is still drying so i may pop it on tomorrow,

I coloured her with copics used Maja Design Life by the Sea papers, and a little wooden boat I found in my bit box, I distressed the edges and used Vintage linen distress ink on the image.

Crazy Is As Crazy Does

Hiya, I've been having a bit of a play this week, as well as cleaning my copics, I've only done the C, E and YR and I'm in such a mess, my fingers are a lovely shade of mahogany, lol

might tackle the reds tomorrow.

Any how, here is a crazy unicorn from  Bloobel stamps and its called quirky-unicorn.

I coloured it with copics, the background is a hessian effect stencil and pink distress ink with the top of my water bottle and citrus crush ink for the circles

Super Dad

OK this is my last Father's Day card for this year.

Tim Holtz Father's Day

Hiya, well I actually got started with my Father's Day cards, I thought I would share this one with you. I've gone all Tim Holtz, I bought a set of three of Tim's dies so I cut one out to try as you do and thought Wow that makes a great stencil, so the paper is a cheapy from The Works, but the quality is totally amazing so thick, and I stenciled with a bit of Black Soot distress ink.

The stamp edge effect die is from China,the birds are from Impression Obsession Sea Birds, and the clouds are also from  Impression Obsession and called Clouds, I had these card blanks given to me they are about six and three quarter inches, a great size I think I might cut my 7" down a bit.

Veil of Petals

Hiya, I hope your having a better week than me, we decided to revamp our bathroom, take out the bath and have a stand alone shower, what a mistake, when we took the tiles of the plaster came of with them, we lifted the vinyl floor and the floorboards were rotten so we have no floor, so as I sit here I have no bath or shower no sink and no toilet, the plumber informed me he will be back on Saturday to get the sink plumbed in. At least my Dad had an old chemical loo he used for camping that we could borrow, never again will i suggest renovating, lol.

Still at least I had a lovely new image from Aurora wings to play with, this one is called

Week 10 Christmas cards

Hi there, well I'm on week 10 , so only one week behind at the moment, will have to try and play catch up. I'm so pleased I joined this group, who would have thought I would have 10 Christmas cards made already for this year.

This is a really old image from Sweet Pea Stamps I believe, I coloured it with copics and sparkle pens, with a bit of glitter on the snowflakes, the back ground is a piece of paper and I stamped snowflakes around the edges (free Stamp) using flutterglue and then rubbed silver leaf into it, the die is by Amy Designs and called Ice Crystal, I must  say it is one of my favorite dies, I cut it in black then rubbed a bit of silver gilding wax around the edges, I finished it off with some aurora crystals,
the eyes were 3d laquered.
