Mixed Media Valentine

Hi there, I've been playing again,
I fancied having ago at an alternative Valentine card, not everyone wont's frilly and flowery cards,
plus it was a good excuse to play. LOL

I stamped the flowers by Cloud 9 Designs Chocolate Chalet , with Versamark and clear embossing powder, then used Distress inks colours Fossilized Amber and Scattered Straw all over, sprinkled with water for the splatter effect, the honeycomb is a stencil by Dutch Doobadoo called Chicken Wire and Spiced Marmalade Distress Crayon, I used a bit of foam to get into the small gaps.
The Love stamp is one from way back and the Be Mine is a cheapy set of Alphabet stamps and a bit of doodling around the edges,
In the corners I ran a bit of clear texture paste and sprinkled some micro beads into it.
The hearts are corrugated cardboard, these were gessoed dabbed with rusty patina and then crackle glazed, once dry it brushed a bit of Walnut ink into the cracks stuck some Frantage pearlized mica fragments in the corners and some more micro beads, lastly I layered them up onto a bit of cheesecloth and gold thread, there was a bit of glue that oozed out under the heart so I had to stick a few gems on it as well, but I think they turned out to be a happy accident.

Really enjoyed myself playing with this one, it will be interesting to see if it sells at the shop.

I really like what you've done here! I thought it was very creative of you to think of an alternative to the frilly/flowery type of Valentine's Day card because you're right: that's not everyone's cup of tea. Your color palette is totally refreshing and I love the dimension you added and the great splatter effect you created. This was a real treat to see and I'm so glad you shared your talents with us for this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!
