The Paper Shelter #74 Metal Embellishments

hi there,i' m sorry  i'm late with this weeks post, no excuse  just completely forgot!!!!!!

Well I think Summer has arrived in the UK, its so hot I can't get in my Bat Cave, its in the attic and gets all the sun from dinner time, I don't  get to play until evening so its like an oven by then.

 This weeks challenge the paper shelter is to add metal embellies. I've had these in my bit box for years, so I'm pleased I finally found a project to use them on. 

I've used HappyTimes Beach Boy coloured with copics , can't remember where the paper is from, ribbon from my stash, metal anchor and starfish,Little Clare sentiment and Nestie.

Friday Sketch Challenge #22

Hi there, this weeks gorgeous sketch was designed by my lovely teamie Shirley

We also have two sponsors

I used Drop Tree from FlonzCraft embossed with blak embossing powder, the background is brayered  with  a Kaliedercolor ink pad, Basi Grey papers, black cobweb lace, Nesties, Marrianne poinsetta Die and papermania brads.

I must say it's been ages since I used my heat gun and I really enjoyed it, this stamp was just crying out to be embossed, think I might do it again in gold, it might also make a good Christmas card if I pop a partridge on it. Wow the old cogs are spinning now!!

The Paper Shelter #72

Hi there, I didn't think I was going to get this card made in time, we are so busy at work and the weeks seem to be passing as if they were days, I took the photo at night so the colours havn't quite come out right, it is much more purple than it appears, but at least I got it done in time, I'm waffling now, so,

 the challenge this week at The Paper Shelter is Pearls and Swirls.

We are also having a DT call so if your interested give it a go, you have to be in it to win it.

I have used Gothic and Modern isn't she adorable, I coloured her with copics, used first edition paper, purple Bazill Basics, Nestie, Tim Holtz Swirl die, Memory box flower die, white and lilac pearls.

Friday Sketch Challenge #20

Hi there, were having thunder storms here and the power keeps flickering so I'm hoping it doesn't go off, we seem to get power cuts for the least little thing here, a couple of years ago it went off because a plane flew over. I hope you've had a great weekend, our weather has been all over the place, really hot then torrential rain, you don't know what to wear. My Son and DIL have been with us for the weekend, to celebrate Fathers Day. and it's  been the best weekend for ages.

This next weekend it's my nephews daughter, Libby (I think that makes her my great niece)  first birthday, I can't believe how quick its gone, she is perfect the most gorgeous little girl ever, she's just started walking and I could watch her for hours, there's no chance of getting any work done when she's about.

I've made her an Easel card using one of Mo's gorgeous images, I coloured with copics, used Kitch papers,

paper roses, dotty ribbon, marriane die cut leaves, pearls, wired pearl clusters, Nesties and an EK border punch, the sentiment I generated on the computer.

Can't wait till the party!!!

Cardmakers Deights

Hi there, Tracy from Cardmakers Delights recently sent me some gorgeous toppers to try, I opted for this beautiful floral display, the toppers came in a lovely little brown paper bag that I used to make the flower with, paper doily,pearls, ribbon , paper artsy floral die , Cuttlebug embossing folder and Marriane leaf die.

Cardmakers Delights have a large range of designs, something for everyone, there is some gorgeous Steampunk ones that I'm going to have a go with as well.

Hi there, I can't believe how quick this year is going, I actually saw a sign outside a restaurant  today saying "Book now for Christmas"

I know some people like to be organised but that's just a tad too early, especially since the owner was stood outside in his shorts and vest (not a pretty sight, I didn't know you could get a builders bum in Bermuda shorts).

 Well a really easy one for you this week at The Paper Shelter the challenge is "Anything Goes"

Hi there, well the summer weather didn't last very long, and how come it always starts to rain when its time to walk my dogs, seriously thinking of investing in some doggy wellies, I'm sure I've seen some on the internet.

The Paper Shelter Challenge #66

Hi there, what gorgeous weather we are having here in the UK, I just hope it lasts until the Bank holiday weekend and I'm not at work,  had a great visit from my Son and his new partner last night, I think she's as crazy as him, so a perfect match really. It's just so nice to see him so happy.

The challenge this week at The Paper Shelter is VINTAGE or SHABBY CHIC so I can't wait to see your designs. Nephews Birthday

Hi there, what a fantastic couple of days we have had here, its almost Summer nice and warm with a welcome breeze, I could stand it like this all year.

It's Ian , my nephews, Birthday on Sat, I can't believe he'll be 29 doesn't it go so quick. 

Ians a very dapper dresser he takes great pride in his appearance so I thought this digi would be perfect for him. I only brought it last week from designed2delight I hadn't heard of this digi shop before, but they have some great images, this one I wanted for Fathers Day, they are also very generous with there freebies, if you get chance I would certainly recommend you take a look, they are also very reasonable, this necktie banner only cost $1.00

I coloured it with copics used DCWV papers, personal impressions sentiment, and a bit of ribbon from my stash. I thought I might 3D my next one, I'll take a piccy when its finished.

Hi there, what strange weather we are having here this week, very warm and muggy with non stop rain,

but I must say I'm loving the lighter nights, no more walking the dogs in the dark, with a Hubby moaning all the way round about not being able to see. lol.

Hiya, I was asked to make a couple of cards for a friends twin grandaughters, Olivia and Elizabeth, I wasn't sure weather to make two totally different cards, in the end I chose to do the same image but in different colours.

 I opted for this gorgeous digi with the cute pig from Saturated Canary as they are both animal lovers.

 Krista Smith is such a great artist, I've not seen anything I don't like on her site.  They are very addictive.

I coloured them with copics, used my minds eye papers, fiskars border punch, spellbinders floral dies and some white pom pom braid, the sentiment I printed out on my computer. I'm not sure which colour I like best.

Hi there, what awful weather were having here, there's supposed to be a draught, but our garden is water logged we've had so much rain, and the winds blew our works wheelie bin over it was that strong, 

But its nice and cosy in my Bats Cave since we had our new gas boiler ;-}

Friday Sketch Challenge #16

Hi there, hope your all well.

It's time for the Friday Sketch Challenge, and this week Zarna has supplied us with this gorgeous sketch.

 I've left the sentiment off mine as I'm not sure who its for yet, it's made of white pearlesent card but it doesn't show up very well in this photo, the paper is out my bit box which I've highlighted with glitter, EK flower punch, gems, a bit of ribbon and a ribbon slider.

It seemed really strange not stamping an image for this card, but I've had quite a large invitation order on and was running out of time, so it was a quickie.
