Mixed Media Christmas card No 4

Hiya, I can't believe I'm still on it, Christmas card number 4, had a play at mixed media again,
I saw some lovely projects online where people had used "Art stones" to create texture, so I ordered some, but they didn't get here in time for my card, so I used some tiny polystyrene balls that had fell out of an old bean bag, this worked great until I decided to blast the ink with my heat gun to dry it off and .......the balls started to melt, ha ha well it all adds texture right.

Hope you like it.

3rd Christmas card so far

Well I'm on a roll with my Christmas cards, that's three weeks and three cards made.
I know its a little unconventional  but I have quite a few boys in the family and they like a bit gruesome, so this fits the bill, I might do it again in purple.

The image is from Bloobel Stamps and is called Ogre
I coloured with copics, stuck a pom pom on his hat, the text is a rub on
papers are Dovecraft, red gems and a crystal snowflake.

2nd Christmas card

Hi there, my new year resolution to make 1 Christmas card a week for the next year has now lasted longer than my diet. Doh. But we wont say anymore about that, as its not a failure if you don't give up trying, and I must say I'm very trying.
This is a freebie from a magazine,(Practical publishing) you got the embossing folder and cute little animal and text stamps, another quicky.

I coloured the cuties with spectrum noir, 3D Laquered the ice puddle, glittered the snowflakes and coloured the igloo with  B000 copic pen.
Hope you are having a good weekend, I have the day to myself tomorrow, so I'm not quite sure what to do with myself.........only joking I have plenty of things I want to try out in my Bat Cave, I keep watching all these cool tutorials on you tube but don't have time to try them for myself so tomorrow is going to be

Sassy Valentine

SO SORRY THIS IS A MOS DIGITAL PENCIL IMAGE
I HAD IT IN THE WRONG FOLDER. SORRY MO

Hi, I just love this image from Sassy Cheryl stamps , childhood sweethearts, reminds me of my Hubby, I was just fourteen when we started to date,

I coloured it with copics, Dovecraft papers, stitch die from China, I bought the packet of  mother of pearl hearts about 10 years ago and I still have about 20 left so I think they will last me a bit longer yet. My other card is just a bit of die cutting, had something in my mind but it didn't quite work out as I expected, I think it's just too red.

Mixed Media Valentine

Hi there, I've been playing again,
I fancied having ago at an alternative Valentine card, not everyone wont's frilly and flowery cards,
plus it was a good excuse to play. LOL

I stamped the flowers by Cloud 9 Designs Chocolate Chalet , with Versamark and clear embossing powder, then used Distress inks colours Fossilized Amber and Scattered Straw all over, sprinkled with water for the splatter effect, the honeycomb is a stencil by Dutch Doobadoo called Chicken Wire and Spiced Marmalade Distress Crayon, I used a bit of foam to get into the small gaps.
The Love stamp is one from way back and the Be Mine is a cheapy set of Alphabet stamps and a bit of doodling around the edges,
In the corners I ran a bit of clear texture paste and sprinkled some micro beads into it.
The hearts are corrugated cardboard, these were gessoed dabbed with rusty patina and then crackle glazed, once dry it brushed a bit of Walnut ink into the cracks stuck some Frantage pearlized mica fragments in the corners and some more micro beads, lastly I layered them up onto a bit of cheesecloth and gold thread, there was a bit of glue that oozed out under the heart so I had to stick a few gems on it as well, but I think they turned out to be a happy accident.

Really enjoyed myself playing with this one, it will be interesting to see if it sells at the shop.

Snowflake card

Hi there, I know I said I was fed up with Christmas cards..............................BUT
I've just joined a group on Facebook---Make One Christmas card every week of 2017
What I thought was, if I can do this thats 52 cards made already for next year, no creeping into card shops in dark glasses hoping no body you know sees you LOL
The Shame Of It
So I thought I would incorporate playing with my Brushos for the background, the snowflake is a Crafter's Companion Die and then a few gems and whola not one but two cards made in my first week, feeling pretty smug with myself.😁

I'm entering this into the following;
ABC Christmas A=Anything goes, B= Blue Brusho

All Dressed Up Facebook Challenge

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE
and a very warm welcome to my first blog post of the year.
To start of this year is January's Facebook challenge Here  in the pinned section at the top of the page. The theme is Magical World.
This gorgeous image is called "Little Flower Fairy" and you can get her from the Etsy shop HERE.

I've been playing at making my own background papers (not that I haven't got shelves full of beautiful papers) this was made with distress inks and a stencil. The image is coloured in with copics, sparkle pen on the wings (but they are not showing up in this photo), pearl drops for the flower centre. The little metal frame was from a sale bucket at the NEC a few years ago now, you got a round one and this square one, they are a copper colour so I painted them in gesso  then rubbed in a bit of silver gilding wax, lace, gems and flowers are from my stash.
One of my resolutions is to blog more this year, I wonder if it lasts longer than my healthy eating plan. lol.
I'm entering this in the following;
Allsorts Something New (my new Digi)
Crafty friends Anything goes
